I recently responded to a Boat For Sale at St Kilda Boat Sales. I live in Sydney, and was in search of a Caribbean 26 in excellent condition, and was not wanting to be messed around with wasted flights etc. By telephone to Darren Finkelstein, and after seeing the 'on-line' video of the boat in question, I flew to Melbourne and by arrangement, inspected the boat at St Kilda Marina. The boat was exactly as described, and in the excellent condition that I expected: I made a realistic offer, and within a short while had a positive response to a purchase. Completing the Sales Documents, and arranging both Club Marine Insurance and later Road Transport to NSW was made easy. A follow up visit with my wife was arranged for some two weeks later, so that we could do a sea trial and learn/relearn the particular characteristics of the boat; the assistance from the guys at St Kilda Boat Sales was fantastic, and the few add-on items that we requested were all attended to post haste and at a fair price.
The Caribbean 26 arrived on time last Thursday morning - in perfect condition. I was given assistance in getting it into the water, and advice about how to re-install Bimini, Clears etc. that were removed for road transport. Everything went according to plan, and later that day the boat was in a new pen in the new Marina. NSW Registration was completed the following day, with all documentation found to be in order.
Darren at St Kilda Boat Sales even sent me photos of the boat loaded onto the trailer, plus a detailed list of what needed to be re-assembled. He followed up, you might say, and has been in touch to make sure that I am a happy customer.
The point of this is simply to say that the experience of dealing with " St Kilda Boat Sales" has been both personally enjoyable and professional in the extreme. I don't buy boats all that often, but this time around, it's been a pleasure.
