From October to April, teams of safety education officers will be stationed at waterways across Victoria to promote boating safety.
Marine Safety Victoria (MSV) runs a seasonal educational program in which Summer Safety Education Officers (SSEOs) visit boat ramps and safety events to educate boaters about on water safety.
SSEOs all have extensive boating experience and can provide you with vital safety information. SSEOs are there to answer any questions you may have about recreational boating issues. If they don't have the answer immediately they are able to put you in contact with someone who does.
In addition, they can help with an introduction to some of MSV's other services such as the free seminar series or addressing your concerns around waterway management issues.
We encourage all boaters to speak to them when you see them on duty at a boat ramp or event.
If you are an organisation that is holding a boating – focussed summer event and you would like our education officers to attend, please contact us with your details.
