Dredging @ St Kilda Marina
It's that time of the year, when marine management undertake the annual maintenance dredging of the enterance to St Kilda Marina.
Maintenance dredging works will be carried out within the entrance to the marina from 10 October 2010 until end of October 2010 (dependant on weather). At the request of Parks Victoria and the City Of Port Phillip, the spoil disposal (sand) will to be pumped to the beach immediately north of Brooks Jetty, opposite Luna Park to replace the sand that has been washed away due to natural beach errosion.
Mariners are advised to exercise caution when navigating within the vicinity of the marina entrance due to floating plant and adhere to navigational signage on the dredge barge.
