Boating is regulated by State Governments so different laws apply in different States.
When it comes to the Murray River, which borders Victoria and New South Wales (NSW), the laws of NSW apply.
Marine Safety Victoria and NSW Maritime have launched a kit to increase awareness of the differences between the laws of Victoria and NSW.
For further information on NSW boating safety regulations, contact NSW Maritime on 13 12 36 or www.maritime.nsw.gov.au
Download the 'There's No Such Thing as Aussie Rules' pocket guide and Murray River Operating Zones.
